Gas Buddy Says: Sorry But We Can't Find You Right Now" While on GasBuddy.com on Safari on Apple iPhone

When you visit GasBuddy.com on Safari instead of using the app, you can touch a button that says "Find Gas Near Me" ... When you touch the button for the first time, you get a message asking for permission to tell Safari your location. If you say no, the next time you use GasBuddy.com, you might get a message that says, "Sorry but we can't find you right now." You get this message because Safari remembers that you didn't give the website and Safari permission to look up your location.

You need to go to settings if you want to fix this, and allow GasBuddy.com to find your location while using Safari.

Here's how ...

Go to >> Settings >> Privacy >> Location Services ...

Make sure the toggle switch is ON.

Go to >> Settings >> Privacy >> Safari websites

Your selection will be either "Never" or "While Using the App"

Obviously if you have "Never" selected, you not letting Safari websites know your location. You must change the selection to "While Using the App" ... Exit out of settings and reload GasBuddy.com in Safari. Touch the Button that says "Find Gas Near Me" and the website will either take you directly to the list of nearest gas stations or it will ask if it is OK to get your location. Touch yes it is OK to get your location and the list of closest gas stations will appear.

The next condition is a little tricky. If your selection already displays "While Using the App" you need to temporarily select "Never" and then re-select "While Using the App" ... then Exit out of settings and reload GasBuddy.com in Safari. Touch the Button that says "Find Gas Near Me" and the website will either take you directly to the list of nearest gas stations or it will ask if it is OK to get your location. Touch yes it is OK to get your location and the list of closest gas stations will appear.

In the second condition, for some reason your status had Safari understanding that you didn't want GasBuddy.com to get your location. This will happen if you have Safari set at "While Using the App" but disallowed the initial request to let GasBuddy.com know your location. Other unknown conditions may also cause Safari to forget the permission granted for GasBuddy.com. But now you know you can reset the situation by going to "Never" and then "While Using the App" to start over.
