Today, we are announcing that we will remove all App Profile Pages on February 1st, 2012. Though similar in appearance, the automatically generated App Profile Pages differ in features from traditional Facebook Pages, and over time the inconsistencies between the two, such as different Insights, APIs, and distribution channels, have become more apparent.
Unfortunately, Facebook gives developers no hint about whether there will be another location for the link to add an App to a Page in the Dev App area.
Tim Ware has written an article praising the new ability for developers to use code to allow adding an App from any web page or from your Facebook Page tabs. However, he is also puzzled that Facebook hasn't yet added a link in the Dev App area where apps are created.
Oh, and one more thing? Why can't people add Apps to Groups on the left margin? ... just like pages.
