According to German statistics company Statista, Google makes almost $500 million more in advertising than all U.S. print publications combined -- newspapers and magazines. Statista reports that Google generated $10.9 billion in ad revenue in the first six months of 2012, while the entire U.S. print media industry made only $10.5 billion.
Google still has some worries, however. Lat month Google reported their advertising cost-per-click dropped 15 percent year-over-year. Cost-per-click measures the average amount advertisers pay Google for each time a viewer clicks on an ad.
